Personally, I've found that using

SELECT 0
USE MyTable order tag MyIndex

is the simplest way. I find that using 2 or 3 lines of code will save a LOT of time later when I'm debugging (if, of course I have any bugs :-) or upgrading code.

However my experience has shown that if you have a large number of deleted records and DELETED ON, takes a very long time to open the table. Doing it in two steps in much, much faster.
