The Fox engine handles the conflict. Remember, the user is acting on a remote or local view of the data. The newid() method is only hit at the instant the user saves their changes to their new record. In the event that two users happened to save at the same instant, Fox puts one of them on hold for the fraction of a second that it takes to commit the other user's new record, and then commits the one on hold.
It has yet to miss with 100+ users on this system.
