I also experienced slow access when running VFP application over a dial-up connection, so I discontinue implementing it. I'm using a 33.6kbps modem. I tried a better idea to resolve this. Since the Operating System that runs VFP is a multitasking system, I created a small program to synchronize the update of both the remote and the main computer. This program will be loaded in memory (running in the background) to equalize the content of a database both from remote and main computer. At this point, the speed in running VFP application to update a database file is normal.
