i had the same problem 2 years a go. My solution, development on drive C:, cd-rom as drive Z:, no mapped network drives an so on.
Open your app or exe as a binary file, search after occurences of drive names an overwrite them with c:. You can do the same with your compiled files before building the app or exe.
I think there was an article (some time ago) in foxpro advisor and/or foxtalk.
