Vfp6 supports EXEs just fine, but the proper way to install is to run the setup, not copy the files to a local machine. That was true in vfp5, also. Now it's possible in vfp5 to get a vfp exe to run without running a setup, but it's not recommended, and may cause problems. I haven't tested this in 6, but if I were you, I would use the setup method of installation...
There are still other possible problems (like the DCOM one), but you should do a proper setup first to rule out anythong else...
