No, I absolutely agree with you, the setup files should *always* be registered -- I was just saying that it's not "necessary" to do that in vfp5, and that's why his app was working without registering files. It may have changed in vfp6, that an app will no longer run without a proper setup/file registration - I don't know, and am not really interested in testing it :)
