>that helped a lot but i still am having problems on the second grid it seems to pull the information from the first row everytime on the first grid it works fine just on the second it pulls only the first rows information instead of the one you select any more i deas? i have tried so many things with what you just gave me it has helped alot nothing else i do seems to work and i want to avoid having to use sql or something to get the result i want.

Check your "refresh" setting. If they're child grids "set refresh" might be pulling it to first record. "set refresh to 0" might help in that case.
