I agree in principal, but Inprise dumping dBase off basically gave MS another reason to say that "xBase" tools aren't strategic. Inprise has some good tools, but I think they'd have been better of making dBase one of their highest priorities and coming after us. The size of the VFP market is probably much more attractive to them than it is to MS and if they were serious about it they wouldn't face much competition unless MS had a big change of heart. The problem with competing with MS on development tools is that a competitor has to be able to compete with all of Visual Studio, not just one tool for the most part.
