The VFP status bar cannot be accessed as an object. There is an ActiveX status bar you can use instead.

I think the height of the VFP status bar is fixed and it's 24 pixels. Try this:

SET STATUS BAR ON

? _SCREEN.Height

SET STATUS BAR OFF

? _SCREEN.Height


and see if the difference is 24.
