FWIW, I prefer to stick with the keys.dbf idea. What happens if the DBC is trashed on-site and the meta-data is lost? Going futher, I like to be able to completely rebuild the DBC: tables, properties, relations, indexes, the whole shebang, from Metadata.dbf.
