Deleting the browser.dbf & .fpt resolved the problem. For those who missed the original post some months ago, I was getting an "Invalid BuffDirty Call" error message when trying to launch the class browser or the component gallery. VFP would then give the C0000005 error and quit.

My thanks to George for taking the time to find other folks who had the same problem and provide a resolution.
