First thing I would do is see if you have a SQL Server config problem of some
sort. Easiest way to check is skip the remote view and directly update your
database with a SQLExecute().

Lots of overhead with remote views especially if they're large and not
properly filtered. On update intensive apps I'd highly recommend using
straight SQL commands if performance is your main goal.
