I don't think that has to do with age, but it is a matter of how you were educated
I am almost 27, I don't think I old (but I am getting there :) )
and while my coding style may not be the best in the world, I don't think it is very sloppy either.
And yes, our company hires young developers (one of the reasons by the way is that it is hard to find VFP developers, and we can tutor and mold younger developers) - but that's why we check thier code, and why we make them write in a certain standard. If they will sink in this coding style they would code better when they'd move to other jobs/languages as well..
