>George, I experienced the same thing, but not on registry.vcx. In _base.vcx the first class looked blank and most of the classes were gone. There were only about 5 left. Size of file looked okay, but on copying over everything was back.

Sounds similiar to mine experience. One thing I don't quite understand, however. You say, "...but on copying over everything was back." I'm not sure what you did here. Certainly, if there's a way to fix this without having to locate the original and extract it from the cab file, I'd like to know.
