I'm convinced now that the problem lies somewhere with the combo's rowsource being a cursor that gets recreated elsewhere (another method). I'm going to check out several things, plus your suggestions and let you know what happens.

For example, if you are using a rowsourcetype = 3 (SQL-Select), then make sure you select into a unique cursor name and use NOFILTER so that the cursor isn't just a filter on a table you use elsewhere.
