Craig and Barb thanks for the replies and your comments. I have never tried to use Access but my wife runs an app at her office written in Access but it is only used by a couple of people at a time.

I also downloaded the White Paper from 96 from MS on Picking the Write Database. I just needed a some info to present to my "pain in the ???" client.
