Yes, basically, but PB's data dictionary is much more powerfull than VFP's ... also, the RULES you add in the DBC require code, and you would have to re-write that code for each back end. You really have to work with it, to see what it has that VFP doesn't.

I am not saying PB is better than VFP, I am just saying, it is not as bad as you may think... The biggest 'against' I have seen here is that it is a Sybase product and supports Sybase better than Oracle or SQL Server... Well, isn't the same argument true for MS-VFP working better with MS-SQL than other servers?
