I'm using 5.0a, build 415. I'm trying to set the InputMask of a text box to 999paces. When the change is saved, VFP is automatically changing it to 999pAces (!).

Al,

Everyone would get this because "A" is a formatting character meaning "Allow alphabetic characters only (no spaces or punctuation marks)". When you use "A" as part of the input mask VFP assumes you intend to allow only alphabetic characters in that position.

See VFP help top "format property" for more information -- although this is far from abundantly clear. A better source is Hacker's Guide™ to Visual FoxPro 6.0 by Granor & Roche which has a complete list of imputMask characters.
