Speed improvements with the new SP? No, I haven't applied it yet. Still working with a 5.0 app. Hopefully after a July rollout we'll try to upgrade them. I'm traditionally behind the times ;-) It's a reputation I have to uphold.

Keep in mind, though, that you can order the update via CD for a small charge (probably just covers materials).
