Then you didn't look. In the FAQ 9the purple book), the entry Get Local IP Address in the Win32 and Other APIs section shows how to retrieve the local IP address using the MS Winsock control. The other references are Microsoft Knowledge base (MSKB) entries; if you don't have MS TechNet of an MSDN description, you can get the MSKB references from Microsoft's Web site. Again, i gave you exact references which can be used at the Microsoft Web site to get the artciles i mentioned. The odds are that if you are not at least minimally familiar with programming in C/C++, they will not do you much good, but they contain exact example code in C that use the Netbios API calls.
