They (Big Brother and the Holding Company) were playing there and she and some of the band members were walking past me and I told her that the show was great. She asked me where everybody was. "Everybody" was at the University of Illinois - Chicago Circle campus seeing Hendrix. Of course, the next night everyone went to see Janis and it was packed to the rafters. I think that was '67.

Hendrix was amazing to see live. Too bad I never got to see Janis.

Never saw Zappa either - one of my true regrets. I did get to meet two of his original band members: Flo & Eddie, who later formed the Turtles - one band I wish I could forget.
