I've been going over the ADO white paper and have been having trouble getting a connection to SQL 7.0.

I have two Win98 machines, a Dell and a Toshiba. The Toshiba has SQL 7.0 and is networked to the Dell.

I can right click the desktop and create a new data link on the Toshiba but not on the Dell. I use the same setup for both (OLE DB Provider for SQL server).

Is the problem that I don't have an NT network? Am I using the wrong provider?

I downloaded the latest (2.1) ADO components.

Any help would be much appreciated.
