Has anyone had any experience with MS SNA Server accessing VSAM files from a mainframe?

We are looking into SNA Server because of articles we have read that say SNA server allows for sending SQL queries to a mainframe VSAM file and returning record sets.

We would like the ability to access our mainframe VSAM files through VFP6 and slowly migrate away from the mainframe.

It sounds like SNA Server could help us do that. Could this be the case?
