"Nothing has changed..." sorry to disagree, but apps don't just break by themselves. This is the flip side of the observation that broken apps don't just fix themselves either ! :-)

Having the same thing happen on all workstations is an important clue... the problem is something they all have in common.

1. Are your users all accessing a single .EXE on a server somewhere? Could this .EXE have become corrupted? Can you recompile it?

2. Are you using VFP6, and is the error the infamous C5? You could try Visual Studio SP3 if you haven't already.

3. Did you try VALIDATE DATABASE on your database(s)?.

4. Did the network administrator update any other software? e.g. install IE5, drivers, software updates etc. on all network workstations? or on the server (e.g. SP5)? I'm not saying any of these may be causing your problem, just giving general examples of things to look for.

5. Have any network privileges been changed, thereby denying critical permissions?

Just a few ideas of things to look for. My main points: something HAS changed, and it's common to all users of your app.

Happy hunting.

>This morning an app of mine started giving a Windows 'Illegal Operation' error when I try to load a form. Nothing has changed and it's doing this on all workstations on the network. It happens somewhere between DataEnv.Beforeopentables and Form.Load. I've opened all tables outside of the program and they all look ok. Even when I remove all tables from the DE, I get the error message (before I hit my WAIT WIND in Form.Load). I've reloaded the vfp run time on both machines.
