Randy-

To add to the posts of Vlad-Georg and Cetin, ESRI also makes (or made, anyway) Map Objects LT. Scaled down MO in price and features. Honestly, though, it really only made the ArcView GIS geeks :) want Map Server.

AFAIK Map Server will let you do your Web deployment fairly easily. Unfortunately I left that company just as we were starting to implement it. But the GIS heavyweight in our group was impressed. $$$$! $10,000 U.S. per processor (yes, _processor_) and $2000 U.S. a year fee after that. (1997 dollars)

Good luck.

I know I've seen several Internet sites that offer some links to maps (most of this has been pretty unimpressive). I'm wondering if this is based on GIS data, and whether they are using some mapping software with an API or COM interface, or if it's a hosting service that renders these maps.
