Try out solving like this.
Make a stand alone appication say UPDATEEXE.exe for workstation which compares the network and client HDD for that exe and if network exe is the recent it copies.
now put the UPDATEEXE.exe in the STARTUP folder of all workstation.
Hence whenever users starts the machine, the machine can get updated for the latest exe.
It sounds silly but it will work.
