>>Atlanta would be great, George! You already mentioned hosting a bash at Scalini's. If my ex-hubby is in a good mood, he might even let me use his cabin in the mountains to throw a party too! It's a great place for tubing on the River and having a mega-BBQ! It would be a blast! Except that if nobody rents a car because of the shuttle service, then that would put a bit of a dent in that plan, now wouldn't it? Oh well, something to think about at least! < g >

Hey George,

Yeah, it's not really close ... it'd be about an 1.5 hour drive probably from Atlanta. (It's not quite as far as Helen, between Cleveland and Clarkesville). Anyway, the only way we could do something there would maybe be if people got in a day or so early, or left later. That way they'd have a whole day up in the mountains. People could even spend the night there if they wanted to (hafta sleep on the floor, it's only a 2 bedroom, 1 bath place ...) We used to throw BBQ parties there, so it's do-able.

Yeah, "dry heat", like that's any better than humid heat. Not once it gets over 90, in my book anyway. People have always complained to me that it's so humid in Atlanta, but it's not really bad at all, IMHO. Plus, temps never get as hot as that! As you know, it's a major heat spell if it gets into the 90's for any length of time, and it really doesn't do that all that often ... unless things have changed dramatically since I left town. < g >
