>>I've lived here for 18 years. The hottest and most uncomfortable I've been since I left Chicago, was a July day in Chicago. Temp was in the lower 90s but the humidity was through the roof. Having central air though, in Georgia should be a requirement. Stays hotter, longer than in "the big town".

What seemed to be the best alternative was one of those big "attic fans" ... after it cools down at night, turn that big sucker on for a half-hour or so, and all that nice cool air gets sucked right in. Definitely cheaper to run than central air!

Hi Bonnie,
I've got one of those. Maybe it's because I'm used to a cooler climate, but an attic fan just doesn't cut it. I don't know I we managed to live through the 12 Georgia summers before we got the central installed. We'll probably turn it on sometime next month and leave it on until September.
