You might try this:
Leave the report outside of the EXE.
Accept the choice from the user.
Open the report as a conventional DBF.
Change what's needed
Close the report table
Run the report.

I can't tell you exactly which setting you'll have to change, but the report structure is well documented, and it should be rather easy.
