Yes, the VFP version of the combobox does do this, and all rather nicely, except for the validation on interactive change (oh it does it, but after every keystroke, which is unacceptable), we need it to do it when completed only if the object has changed. And we cannot do it in a valid clause because events firing from the valid do not allow us to setfocus. We need it to work like an IE 5.0 address bar, but with a control source (or bound field)... that would work nicely... <g>
