Yes, but this is something different from proving that there is a bug/problem when passing a public array by ref (which, imho, works ok and as expected).

This shows that the variable passed by ref is hidden inside the function, regardless of the way it was initially declared. As I said, this is not related to arrays. This is true for any variable passed by ref.
