Dave,
After I sent this message I did some checking if I just created a brand new form nothing on it then I was able to get it to work. You are right that it has to do with the DataEnvironment. Once I removed it then it worked. Now the only prolbem is to get the screen to stay up long enough for the people to key some info into it.

The error should be giving you the row number of the record in the vcx that is having the problem. You can USE the vcx and look in the Properties memo of that record to see which control it is.
