As I understand the little bit I have read to date on the subject I would agree that it all leads to full compatibility with SQL Server and probably it's databases.

It is the degree of "compatibility" though, which is the key (as I see it). Even assuming that it (MSDE in Access 2000 or Office 2000's Access, however you want to slice it) does allow for stored procedures, etc. it still does not appear to have logging or security beyond what Access would offer.

And because "compatibility" could really be limited to the actual SQL statements and the results they provide, I would have trouble seeing any genuine advantage in that. As I've said earlier, VFPs SQL statements could just as easily be made to qualify.

I suppose that, based on the paltry info available to date, you are viewing this optimistically while I am on the pessimistic side. I would hate to see anyone consider throwing VFP overboard just based on the information available so far.
