JimB (and Bruce, too)
I figured out the problem. There are
two System Information Controls. I posted the one I thought was right version for the right control, but after checking, I didn't. A little background.
When I initially posted this, I had selected the check box on the controls tab of the options dialog with the prompt, "System Information Control". This is the problem child. Its OLEName is MSISYS.MSISYSCTRL.1. After checking the registry, I found that this control must be a leftover or something. It's OCX is Msisys.ocx in the Program Files\Common\Microsoft Shared\MsInfo directory, with the version 1, 0, 0, 1.
The
real System Information Control, appears as "Microsoft SysInfo Control, version 6.0" in the control's list box. Its OLEName is SYSINFO.Sysinfo.1.
Sorry gang. Hang a "doh" on me< g >.
Thanks to Jim and Bruce for their feedback.
George
