Offline views???? Dude, you are still stuck with the same old engine. And, if more than one person needs the same offline view, you need to resort to all kinds of kludges. And, if you are in a SQL-Server environment, you need to bridge the gap between DBF's and SQL. On a mobile computing basis, MSDE is very, very compelling choice.
Mind you, I am not advocating folks abandon DBF's. Rather, if you are in a mixed environment (DBF's and SQL), and you really need that local SQL-Server support, MSDE looks like the way to go.
