For Win95, there's DCOM version 1.3 available at the MS site, and I still strongly recommend the enhanced VBScript and JScript engines in the upgraded WSH engine, even staying at IE 4.01 (there's no indication that this will have any effect on C5 errors, however.) Since instlaling the updated engine can be done silently using the /Q command line parameter, it's under 1MB in size, and doesn't force a reboot, it's still a good move.
