Thanks all. You are quite correct. Hard to think I've missed that all this time. Anyway... most of the applications I have used this technique with have been manufacturing production line apps using touch screens and all. Very tightly controlled and no more than one instance of a form allowed at a time. Guess thats why I've never encountered the problem... I am going to go back and re-write all that old code now... <grin>
