Mike,

One more thing I should have mentioned. Once you have upsized your data you may want to set the compatibility level back to 70. This will allow you to take advantage of all of the new features of SQL Server 7.0. While the Upsizing Wizard apparently needs 6.5 mode, the rest of VFP's remote data features have worked fine for me in 7.0 mode.

>I showed your suggestion to my system's adminitrator. He changed a couple properties and now it works. Thanks for your help.

>>My guess is that the Upsizing Wizard tries to change the database's compatibility level to 65 (for SQL Server 6.5 compatibility). You probably don't have permission to do this. Ask your system admin to do it for you. If he or she doesn't know how, tell him or her to use the sp_dbcmptlevel stored procedure.

>>>I have designed and tested a VFP 6.0 application prototype using local views. Just for my own learning experience I wanted to upsize the project to SQL Server. My system's administrator imported the VFP database to the server using SQL Server 7.0. We created a connection to the database and tested the connection. I tried to run the Upsizing Wizard and got to Step 5 - Select Target Database. Since the database was already there the Wizard identified it and "Existing" was checked. When I click Next, a message box pops up which reads, "The Upsizing Wizard could not set the SQL Server 7.0 database to proper compatibility level for upsizing.” The only option I am given is to click on Ok.

>>>Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
