I had the exact same problem, thus the reason for my post. I was curious if I should even bother with a download and test as I thought it must be very similar to the SQL 7.0 Desktop.

Seeing that AMD notebooks seem to still have a marketplace, I would think that the MSDE niche for mobile databases would have to take that into consideration.
Guess I'll find out.
