Along with Mabry that Craig mentioned, check out the SocketTools package from Catalyst (www.catalyst.com). Their 3.0 version of the toolkit (which contains ActiveX controls for virtually every internet related, inclucing a socket control) has documented examples for Delphi, VB *and* VFP. This is the first package I've seen with examples for both VB and VFP.

I believe we paid something like $695 US for a 2 developer enterprise license, with which we get all future upgrades for free. That's a nice feature. I know we've successfully used the Telnet, HTTP, SMTP and POP3 controls in VFP5 with no problems.
