Thanks Sylvain I'll use it next, it sounds much more efficient especially on large tables. I assume to use this the lMovePointer must be used to go to the record.

BTW the form doesn't seem to be responding to the command at all if a current number is placed in the txtBox. Do you know why the lostfocus event being true is not firing this correctly? I think this may be at the core of my problems.
