And maybe what is going on here is the same thing as was happening as told in last month's FPA, where even with nodataonload a query was taking way too long. Turned out to be related, as Ed was getting at, to a (unbalanced) DELETED flag with a tag on DELETED().
In any case the VFUG article asked the reader to 'play along' with something that was hard to play along with. As seems to have been pretty well deduced, VFP with Rushmore may transfer INDEX records but certainly not whole tables (unless, of course, that's how the query resolves).>Ed,
