This VFP conference sounds like a true bargain in comparison. I will
be in attendance (have never been to a DevCon). I also know several
persons in the past that have gone to the DevCon that are skipping it
to attend the So Cal conference instead. You're right that most of the
same speakers will be in attendance so you can't beat it for the money...

I showed my boss the cost of the Southern California conference and he agreed to let me go. It seems to have many of the same speakers and the hotel is close to the airport, so I do not have to have a rental car (the hotel provides a shuttle). It seems to answer a few cost problems that I had with DevCon. I registered today for $465, not bad for what you get.
