There is an article in the KB [purple book] under Articles, Client/Server that will get you started on connecting VFP to Oracle.

In your initial development, get comfortable with working with views. You could start with a DBC that has native VFP tables, then create a second DBC that uses the VFP ODBC driver to create remote views of the native VFP tables in the first DBC you created.

I am not sure of any books specific on this topic, but there have been numerous threads here on diffent C/S and Oracle issues. You may want to check the Partnership area of the UT for books or other information. I just do not think there is anythink as specific as you want.
