This is fine if it is a single select statement but if i perform a union within the statement it wont allow me to use the cursor twice and comes up with an open table dialogue box. I have tried sending the result to a different cursor and then after the search has finished sending it back to the origanal one but then i get an error saying " table must be created using select into table"

I have had this same problem. It seems that I did a union of 2 cursors
puting the result into a third to get around that problem. HTH
