I can personally recommend Jim Duffy's client/server class (http://www.TakeNote.com). I took Jim's whole series. He uses examples from his own contract work which allow you to see how things are done in the "real world" and takes time to help each student apply what they've learned to their own situations.

He also offered some suggestions on how to balance hardware and software needs for best performance and how to convey this to the end users. (Let them know where to spend and where to cut corners.)

Best of all, I really understand how to produce scalable applications, and how to migrate them when the time comes.
