The implementation of the TO ASCII command in VFP su*** IMO.
I can recall spending hours trying to work this out. The best way I found was to use format strings in every field and replace any empty spaces in the report lines with a field box with SPACE(n) in the expression and REPL(n,"X") in the format. Neat thing about this was I could print on Laser printers a nice report formatted in whatever font I wanted while still being able to output a formatted ASCII file.
Be wary...look for other solutions. This one can get very 'trial and error' time consuming.
