With most video drivers, when you move a window, object etc. around you get a choice of:
1. Display the object as it's being moved.
2. Show only an outline as it's being moved, then redisplay when you've finished moving the object.
Most systems default to option 1, so the video card vendors can show off how hot their cards are. Setting your system to option 2 may help.
