First, let's establish what we're talking about. I assume, from the thread, that it's the Shell.Application object. In order to create a reference, you first issues:

oShell = CREATEOBJECT('Shell.Application')

If an error occurs at this point, it may mean that the Windows Scripting Host(WSH) isn't installed. I believe that it's available as a download from the Microsoft site. I don't know the URL off-hand (I'm running Win98, and it's part of that installation). Maybe someone else here does know it.
