Title:
Location of data in local views
Before I get hounded on doing this the wrong way...
Most of my experience is with Foxpro 2.6, and I have 2 days to get
my preliminary entry screens running. With more time, I would
pursue remote views to a server, but I can't at this point.
I will have multiple users sharing a database across an NT network.
I would like to build a a grid from a set of records which has been selected from the database.
I have been looking a creating a local view, selecting the records I want. (this seems to work for single user)
If 2 users are accessing the same 'view' with diffent filtering criteria, will they see thier own sets of data? Or is there a single location that contains the records from the SQL that would be seen by anyone looking at it? Or do I have the concept all wrong?
My alternative was to do an SQL to a cursor, and display the info from there, but I don't think I can use the grid builder that way.
I would have just browsed in 2.6
Any help would be appreciated.
